d.o.b Foundation, Managing Director

Hedwig Siewertsen is managing director of d.o.b foundation as of January 1st 2011. She has a Bsc. in tropical agriculture and a university degree in development economics. Since 1994 she has been working in the area of SME development, value chain finance and microfinance, in over 20 countries in Africa and some countries in Asia. First she worked as an associate expert for the International Labour Organisation in Madagascar and Tanzania and from 1999 till 2010 as a consultant with Triodos Facet consultants based in The Netherlands. In 2006 she started an essential oil company in Madagascar together with two Malagasy agronomists. In her current position as managing director of d.o.b foundation, she is responsible for building up and managing the investment portfolio comprised of African enterprises that improve the lives of low-income people. She also heads a farm, consisting of organic fruit orchards, organic cows and nature, where d.o.b foundation is housed and is used by like-minded organizations for conferences, meetings and events.
